Lighting plan soft vintage

Project: Soft Vintage
1A cover lighting Soft Vintage.png
A lighting plan for a lovely young couple with a beautiful light interior, with a lot of natural materials and vintage touches. They just moved into their new home and all that was missing was the perfect lighting to complement their strong sense of style and create the right ambiance. The plan was for the entire ground floor including the garage, which they also used as a music room for small performances. (Text will continue below the images.)

The main colors of their interior were ecru and beige hues, combined with dark brown wood and accents of soft green and aged pink. There were round shapes, soft fabrics, dark wood and vintage furniture. Which immediately stood out was the Borastapeter Falsterbo Dahlia Garden Wallpaper with a green and soft pink floral design. We took our inspiration from all of this and sources quite bespoke light fixtures, a mix between vintage and new. (Text will continue below the image.)

We started off with looking at functionalities and selected a surface mounted spot in walnut color from Rendl lighting, which we placed in front of the patio doors, on strategic places in the kitchen and in the hallway. Next to the 2 vintage pendant lights above the dining area and Bright beads pendant lights from Marz designs in the kitchen this is the ambient lighting for the living quarters. As task lighting, we added 2 XL floor lamps in the accent shades of soft green and aged pink and 2 gorgeous design classics, vintage floor lamps from Artiforte and Jean Rispal. The accent lighting consists of a Nordal table lamp, 2 vintage Danish design wall lights, a vintage chrome mushroom table lamp and the Bruco wall light of Ettore Sottsass. In the hallway next to the same walnut spotlights 2 unique items as well. One newly designed pendant light, the Edison’s Garden, which actually has a small garden built-in the bulb. And the vintage Tobia Scarpa Nuvole from Flos. A brand that is still leading the lighting industry. To complement the vintage feel even further we advised on Fontini Garby colonial flush mounted boxes as light switches all throughout the ground floor. (Text will continue below the image.)

For the special functionality of the garage, we proposed a combination of fixtures for different use. Some LED panels if you would need the full lighting in the space. Some surface mounted lights, which can be used in combination with the wall lights for a warmer ambiance, in case of a music rehearsal. And some track lights for performances to highlight the stage area. All-in all a very complete lighting plan, which fulfills the complete wish list of this couple. We have also added the vertical distribution of the light fixtures in the different spaces below for your reference. You can see more examples of lighting plans in our portfolio on the ‘about’ page.
